Harbor Health is seeking a dynamic Broker Account Representative to drive adoption of our innovative Individual and Family Plans (IFP) in the Austin market. This role serves as the primary liaison between Harbor Health and external insurance brokers, requiring a motivated sales professional who can build strong partnerships and position our unique payvider model as the preferred healthcare solution for individuals and families.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Expertise & Broker Education
Master Harbor Health's IFP payvider model including benefits, pricing, underwriting, network coverage, and competitive advantages
Deliver training sessions and presentations to educate brokers on IFP products and member experience
Develop compliant sales enablement materials that communicate Harbor Health's value proposition
Serve as primary resource for brokers regarding product features, enrollment processes, and subsidy eligibility
Sales & Relationship Management
Serve as a primary point of contact for inbound broker support, including answering the broker support phone line and managing the broker support email inbox
Provide timely support to brokers on enrollment issues, member servicing needs, and post-enrollment questions
Build strong relationships with brokers through responsiveness, reliability, and issue resolution
Assist brokers with questions related to commissions, payments, and incentive programs
Track broker interactions, inquiries, and resolutions in CRM systems
Market Strategy & Competitive Positioning
Articulate Harbor Health's unique payvider model and competitive advantages in Austin's IFP market
Equip brokers with strategies to overcome objections about our innovative approach
Gather market intelligence and broker feedback on product performance and competitive landscape
Communicate insights to internal teams to drive continuous improvement
Monitor competitor IFP offerings and adjust strategies accordingly
Implementation & Compliance Support
Guide brokers and members through enrollment and onboarding processes
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state insurance laws, ACA requirements, and marketplace regulations
Collaborate with operations teams to resolve broker and member inquiries
Maintain accurate CRM documentation of broker interactions and sales activities
Support brokers during open enrollment and special enrollment periods
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Required:
3-7 years in IFP health insurance sales, broker relations, or account management OR 2-5 years in quota-carrying B2B or channel sales with proven track record in IFP market
Bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
Direct experience with Individual and Family Plan products and ACA marketplace dynamics
Strong understanding of IFP benefits, plan design, subsidy structures, and regulatory compliance
Demonstrated success building productive broker relationships in the IFP space
Excellent presentation skills with ability to explain complex healthcare concepts clearly
Self-motivated with strong organizational abilities
Proficiency in CRM systems and Google Suite
Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally within Austin market
Preferred:
Previous experience as successful IFP insurance broker or agent
Healthcare startup or IFP product launch experience
Knowledge of value-based care models or integrated delivery systems
Active health insurance license or willingness to obtain
Existing Austin IFP broker network
Experience with ACA marketplace enrollment systems and subsidy calculations
