POSITION OVERVIEW
Harbor Health is seeking a collaborative Pharmacy Refill Specialist to join our growing team. Harbor Health is an entirely new multi-specialty clinic group in Austin, TX utilizing a modern approach to co-create health with those who get, give, and pay for it — allowing everyone to fully flourish. In this non-traditional Pharmacy Technician role, you will work alongside our core pharmacy and clinical team with a passion for preventative healthcare to monitor and improve member adherence to medication. You will communicate directly with members and their caregivers, gather and analyze adherence data, and help demonstrate meaningful outcomes — all in alignment with our mission of transforming healthcare through our payvider model.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interview members and/or family members to obtain and document information about newly prescribed medications, adherence to their documented regimen, and any reported side effects or barriers to adherence
- Triage medication information gathered from members and relay to appropriate clinical staff
- Collaborate with the Pharmacy Director and Information Technology staff to develop workflows and improve efficiency in data gathering — both manually and through cutting-edge technology — to document and improve medication initiation and adherence
- Collaborate with the Pharmacy Director to perform data collection and develop metrics that demonstrate outcomes
- Develop and refine workflows to achieve efficiency within the clinic system
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Licensed Certified Pharmacy Technician, credentialed and in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy prior to hire date
- Minimum 5 years of retail or hospital experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to communicate positively and effectively with members and/or their caregivers
- Strong teamwork capabilities while maintaining ability to function independently with sound judgment
- Flexibility to shift priorities, maintain confidentiality, and establish effective interpersonal work relationships
Preferred:
- Medication reconciliation experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar software, and comfort navigating EMR platforms
- Experience with patient financial assistance programs and patient advocacy
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
Physical Requirements:
- May require travel between clinic sites
