POSITION OVERVIEW

Harbor Health is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technician to join our team. This role is essential to providing high-quality imaging services with a focus on cardiology and multispecialty care. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in echocardiography, along with a strong commitment to accuracy, patient-centered care, and collaboration with our clinical team.


POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform a variety of ultrasound imaging procedures, with a focus on cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography).

  • Conduct high-quality scans to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac and multispecialty conditions.

  • Ensure accurate patient positioning, image acquisition, and real-time interpretation of imaging data for optimal diagnostic quality.

  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, ensure comfort, and address concerns during imaging sessions.

  • Collaborate with Cardiologists, Specialists, Nurse Practitioners, and Clinicians to support timely and accurate diagnoses.

  • Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Document and store imaging results efficiently in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting and identifying abnormalities during cardiac ultrasounds, including stress echocardiography.

  • Support multispecialty imaging needs, including abdominal, vascular, and musculoskeletal ultrasound, as needed.

  • Adhere to all regulatory, safety, and infection control standards in a clinical setting.

  • Assist in improving workflows, protocols, and quality initiatives within the imaging department.


DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Cardiology ultrasound experience is required (minimum 2 years).

  • Multispecialty ultrasound experience is desired (e.g., vascular, abdominal, musculoskeletal).

  • Current ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac ultrasound (RCS, RDCS, or equivalent) is required.

  • Current BLS certification is required.

  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound physics, imaging techniques, and clinical workflows.

  • Proficiency with ultrasound equipment and digital imaging software.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative clinical team.

  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient education and comfort.

  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

  • Physical ability to perform imaging duties, including standing for extended periods and moving equipment as needed.
