POSITION OVERVIEW

Harbor Health is seeking skilled Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) to join our growing team. Harbor Health is an entirely new multi-specialty clinic group in Round Rock, TX utilizing a modern approach to co-create health with those who get, give, and pay for it — allowing everyone to fully flourish. As a critical member of our clinical team, you will help ensure smooth clinic operations while delivering compassionate, member-centered care that aligns with our mission of transforming healthcare through our payvider model.

 

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the clinical team to execute care tasks as ordered by providers
  • Deliver care in accordance with each member's individualized care plan
  • Perform client intake, collect lab specimens, and administer immunizations
  • Chart accurately in electronic medical records (EHR)
  • Assist with minor procedures and other supportive functions for the clinical team
  • Complete opening and closing tasks each day to prepare for daily clinic operations
  • Support the care team to ensure members' needs are met and hand-offs are appropriately conducted
 

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or ability to renew/apply for certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in primary care or similar clinical environment
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Computer proficiency with the ability to enter information in EHR systems and compile reports or data as requested
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Excellent customer service and support skills; ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Effective and professional communication — verbal and written — with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds
  • Consistent demonstration of positive, proactive customer service and ethical behavior
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member while functioning independently with sound judgment
  • Flexibility to shift priorities, maintain confidentiality, and establish effective interpersonal work relationships

Preferred:

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • BLS Certification
  • Phlebotomy Certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work rotating shifts in a physically demanding, moderate-stress environment
  • Exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, and repetitive motions
  • Full range of body motion including handling and lifting clients
  • Light to moderate work with 50 lbs. maximum weight to lift and carry
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, handle objects, talk and/or hear, and see
