POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a part-time (0.5 FTE) Rheumatologist to join our innovative healthcare team in Austin. As a key member of our specialty care network, you will provide expert rheumatological care while collaborating with primary care providers to deliver integrated, patient-centered treatment. This role offers the opportunity to help shape the future of specialty care delivery within a value-based care model.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the development of a comprehensive program of rheumatological care for Harbor’s diverse population of members
  • Provide comprehensive rheumatologic evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with various autoimmune and inflammatory conditions
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans while considering both clinical outcomes and cost-effectiveness
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians and other specialists to ensure coordinated care delivery
  • Participate in care team meetings to discuss complex cases and treatment strategies
  • Document patient encounters thoroughly and timely in the electronic health record
  • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and pathways for rheumatologic conditions
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Board certified/board eligible in Rheumatology
  • Active Texas medical license or eligible for licensure
  • 2+ years of clinical experience in Rheumatology preferred
  • Experience with value-based care models is highly desired
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
  • Excellent communication skills and commitment to patient education
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and digital health tools
  • Interest in contributing to the development of innovative care delivery models
