POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a part-time (0.5 FTE) Rheumatologist to join our innovative healthcare team in Austin. As a key member of our specialty care network, you will provide expert rheumatological care while collaborating with primary care providers to deliver integrated, patient-centered treatment. This role offers the opportunity to help shape the future of specialty care delivery within a value-based care model.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the development of a comprehensive program of rheumatological care for Harbor’s diverse population of members

Provide comprehensive rheumatologic evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with various autoimmune and inflammatory conditions
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans while considering both clinical outcomes and cost-effectiveness
Collaborate with primary care physicians and other specialists to ensure coordinated care delivery
Participate in care team meetings to discuss complex cases and treatment strategies
Document patient encounters thoroughly and timely in the electronic health record
Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and pathways for rheumatologic conditions
Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Board certified/board eligible in Rheumatology
Active Texas medical license or eligible for licensure
2+ years of clinical experience in Rheumatology preferred
Experience with value-based care models is highly desired
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
Excellent communication skills and commitment to patient education
Proficiency with electronic health records and digital health tools
Interest in contributing to the development of innovative care delivery models
