POSITION OVERVIEW

Harbor Health seeks a board-certified/board-eligible Gastroenterologist to join our innovative healthcare team in Austin. As Harbor’s leader for gastroenterology, you will help design and oversee the development of a new system to optimize outcomes for members with GI conditions through processes, technology, and direct patient care. With our other clinical leaders, you will help shape our integrated care model that combines comprehensive medical services with modern payment solutions.
 

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the development of a comprehensive program of GI care for Harbor’s diverse population of members
  • Provide direct gastroenterological care, including consultations, procedures, and follow-up care
  • Perform endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, and related diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians and other specialists to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Participate in the development of clinical protocols and pathways that align with our value-based care model
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and maintain clinical excellence metrics
  • Engage in patient education and preventive care strategies
  • Manage complex GI conditions while focusing on optimal patient outcomes and experience
 

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Board certification/eligibility in Gastroenterology
  • Current Texas medical license or ability to obtain one
  • Fellowship training in Gastroenterology from an accredited program
  • Experience with advanced endoscopic procedures
  • Strong clinical judgment and excellent diagnostic skills
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with or interest in value-based care models
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning
