POSITION OVERVIEW
As a part-time Pulmonologist at Harbor Health, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized respiratory care while contributing to our innovative healthcare delivery model. This position offers the opportunity to practice medicine in a value-based care setting, focusing on both preventive care and management of complex pulmonary conditions. Working collaboratively with our primary care providers and specialists, you'll help establish and maintain high-quality, patient-centered pulmonary services for our members.  

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the development of a comprehensive program of pulmonary care for Harbor’s diverse population of members
  • Provide comprehensive pulmonary consultation, diagnosis, and treatment for adult patients with respiratory conditions
  • Evaluate and manage patients with various pulmonary disorders including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, and sleep disorders
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians and other specialists to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Interpret pulmonary function tests and other diagnostic studies
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to developing clinical protocols
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the electronic health record
  • Engage in care coordination with the broader healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Board certified/eligible in Pulmonary Medicine
  • Active state medical license or eligible for licensure in Texas
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in Pulmonology
  • Experience with or interest in value-based care delivery models
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • Excellent communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and digital health technologies
  • Experience in quality improvement and population health management preferred
