POSITION OVERVIEW
As a part-time Pulmonologist at Harbor Health, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized respiratory care while contributing to our innovative healthcare delivery model. This position offers the opportunity to practice medicine in a value-based care setting, focusing on both preventive care and management of complex pulmonary conditions. Working collaboratively with our primary care providers and specialists, you'll help establish and maintain high-quality, patient-centered pulmonary services for our members.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development of a comprehensive program of pulmonary care for Harbor’s diverse population of members
- Provide comprehensive pulmonary consultation, diagnosis, and treatment for adult patients with respiratory conditions
- Evaluate and manage patients with various pulmonary disorders including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, and sleep disorders
- Collaborate with primary care physicians and other specialists to develop and implement treatment plans
- Interpret pulmonary function tests and other diagnostic studies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to developing clinical protocols
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the electronic health record
- Engage in care coordination with the broader healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Board certified/eligible in Pulmonary Medicine
- Active state medical license or eligible for licensure in Texas
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in Pulmonology
- Experience with or interest in value-based care delivery models
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care
- Proficiency with electronic health records and digital health technologies
- Experience in quality improvement and population health management preferred
