POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager of IT oversees Harbor Health’s technology operations, field services, and day-to-day IT service delivery. This role ensures that all clinical and corporate technology functions are consistent, reliable, and secure across the organization.
This position will manage a dispersed IT team and serve as the primary IT Operations Owner and vendor relationship holder. The Manager of IT drives operational excellence through hands-on execution, vendor management, process development, and leadership of field and support functions.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations & Field Services Management
- Lead and mentor the new IT team members, ensuring consistent delivery of onsite and remote support across all clinics and corporate offices.
- Oversee the execution of new clinic integrations, site upgrades, and technology refreshes.
- Ensure endpoint reliability through standardized imaging, patching, and asset lifecycle management.
- Coordinate with stakeholders on technology readiness for new or expanding sites and systems.
- Own field escalation processes, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication to stakeholders.
- Serve as the operational lead for Harbor’s IT Operation Vendors (e.g.: MSP, printer service, ISPs, etc.), managing service quality, ticket escalations, and quarterly business reviews.
- Approve technology purchases, licensing renewals, and hardware orders in partnership with Procurement.
- Track vendor performance metrics, drive CSAT improvements, and ensure service level adherence.
- Align vendor deliverables with Harbor’s strategic IT roadmap and internal escalation structure.
Systems & Infrastructure Operations
- Oversee daily operations of core IT systems, including MDM, ticketing, and asset inventory platforms.
- Partner with Security and Infrastructure teams to ensure endpoints, networks, and systems are configured securely and maintained to standard.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across devices, network connectivity, and SaaS systems, coordinating resolution across internal teams and vendors.
- Maintain accurate, auditable inventory of IT assets and ensure compliance with retention and disposal policies.
Process, Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Establish and refine IT operational processes, SOPs, and documentation to enable scalability and consistency.
- Develop and maintain knowledge base articles and service catalogs for internal and MSP use.
- Analyze service metrics to identify trends, reduce recurring incidents, and improve operational efficiency.
- Champion a “get it done, do it well” mindset—balancing responsiveness with long-term quality and prevention.
Project Execution
- Partner with IT leadership to deliver technology components of clinic integrations, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
- Manage task prioritization between projects and daily operational demands.
- Track milestones, dependencies, and resource needs across concurrent initiatives.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Foster a collaborative, calm-under-pressure culture that values transparency, accountability, and growth.
- Coach and develop team members, providing feedback and professional development opportunities.
- Act as deputy to the Director of IT for operational decision-making and departmental coordination.
- Build strong relationships with clinical and business stakeholders, ensuring IT alignment with operational needs.
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Education and Experience
- BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years in IT operations with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
- Proven success managing MSPs, multi-site environments, and hybrid cloud/SaaS ecosystems.
- Experience in healthcare or other highly regulated industries required.
Skills
- Proficiency with MDMs, ITSM/ticketing platforms, asset management, and network fundamentals.
- Hands-on technical ability across endpoints, SaaS systems, and network troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated understanding of ITIL or IT service management practices.
- Strong vendor management and budgeting skills.
- Excellent documentation, organization, and communication abilities.
- Ability to lead calmly in high-pressure situations and make balanced, informed decisions.
- Travel up to 25% to clinics and field sites required.
